Virat Kohli was about to take a break from cricket for the final two ODIs and three match T-20I series  against New Zealand, with Rohit Sharma as the replacement for the team Captain. Kohli said that it is a matter of utter happiness for him that the Indian team showed off their skills and were confident about themselves and that now he can enjoy his break from the rest of the matches in peace. “It is definitely a moment for a celebration and the timing couldn’t have been perfect for such an important win and now I can be relieved that I can rely on Rohit Sharma and the whole of my squad for the rest of the matches against the black hats.”  

Lately the Indian cricketer that has been doing wonders with his performance from his debut performance in 2006 in the Indian cricket team. Born and raised in Delhi he has represented his city cricket team at various age group levels before his debut. For the recent performances Virat Kohli was quite happy after the 35 run win over New Zealand. Being the captain of his team he praised the whole squad for winning the series with a 4-1 scoreline. 

What changes did you think were necessary to bring in the training of the players for these series against New Zealand?

“There weren’t many changes brought into the training for this series for the squad apart from the usual, but the time schedule was at a rise as the bowlers trained rigorously for hours to go up against the black hats.”

How is the Captainship of the Indian Cricket team treating you? How do you feel to have been presented with this honour?

“I feel really good and honoured to be captaining the national cricket team of my country and to have been representing my nation on such a big level. On the other hand I do have a lot of extra respect for M.S. Dhoni for handling the team as a captain for so long because it really is a challenge in itself.”

Do you think you and your team faced some difficulties as the New Zealand players had an advantage of being playing on their home ground?

“It was a challenge for us to beat the black hats on their home ground since they were the ones who were familiar with the pitch conditions and had been practicing on the same, it’s the reason that I praise all my squad for their performance and hard work that they pulled off a great series with appreciable showcasing of their skills.”

"I can relax and enjoy my break. Someday someone has to take your place and that's how the game goes. I'm pretty happy contributing for the team as much as I can," Kohli said at the post-match presentation.
